Jennifer Vu, BS

Jennifer Vu is a third year medical student at the David Geffen School of Medicine (DGSOM) at UCLA. She grew up in Singapore and Germany before moving to upstate New York in middle school. The transition to living in the United States and witnessing the impact of gun violence on her communities and patients in medical school catalyzed Jen’s interest in work related to gun violence reduction. As part of her Discovery Year in the DGSOM 3rd year curriculum, her current projects center advocacy through medical education, research to characterize the morbidity of gun violence, and community building initiatives such as being the Lead Organizer for the 2025 UCLA Interdisciplinary Conference on Gun Violence Reduction.

Jen earned her BS in Human Biology with a Minor in Education from Stanford University. She aims to be a pediatric ophthalmologist and is committed to continue working with interdisciplinary teams and community partners to address challenges that impact the well-being, safety, and development of children.
