Eden Bjornson

Eden is a third year Political Science and Statistics & Data Science double major here at UCLA. She has been involved in Students Demand Action since 2019, and is particularly passionate about legislative advocacy. After college, Eden hopes to pursue a Political Science PhD and build a career in political research.

Students Demand Action is a national grassroots volunteer initiative, created by and for teens and young adults, a network within Everytown for Gun Safety, to channel the energy and passion of high school and college-aged students into the fight against gun violence. The UCLA chapter was officially founded in winter quarter 2024, though several members have been involved in the organization longer. Thus far, we’ve focused on our divestment campaign, voter registration, and legislative work. You can often find us flyering on Bruin Walk, getting attention for our club and our petition for the UC Regents to divest from the gun industry. During the 2024 election, we phonebanked for gun sense candidates, and last spring, we went to DC for the Gun Sense University conference to speak with our lawmakers in favor of gun sense legislation. If you know any UCLA students interested in joining us, we’re always welcoming new members! Our speakers today are three members of our executive board, Eden Bjornson, Ronen Wenderfer, and Erin Marshall.
